In a nutshell

With a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Perugia, he has about 20 years of experience in the design of prefabricated buildings and in the supervision of projects. He currently works at Manini Prefabbricati S.p.A., where he holds the position of Chief Technical Officer. His expertise includes prestressing technology, seismic design, and fire resistance of precast structures.

 In his experience in the field of prefabrication, he has been involved in: 

• development of patents related to innovative connection systems between precast elements for buildings designed in seismic areas; 
• creation of innovative systems for the semi-automatic design of prefabricated buildings; 
• development of design systems oriented towards Computer-Aided Manufacturing;
•  experimentation in the use of GFRP, FRP, UHPC, and low-carbon concrete in the prefabrication of reinforced concrete and prestressed concrete elements;
•  design and development of automatic monitoring and quality control systems on construction sites with prefabricated buildings under construction;
•  predictive monitoring of prestressed concrete bridges; 
• predictive monitoring of prefabricated buildings. 

Leonardo Casali is the author and co-author of technical articles published in abuot ten national and international conferences / Journals (SMAR, ICC-CTE, IABMAS, FABRE CONFERENCE, EURODYN, ACI-NBSC, SPIE, ANIDIS, ACI-DSCS, Journal of Physics D).
