In a nutshell
She is an Associate Professor of Structural Engineering (ICAR/09) at the University of Salento, where she conducts research and teaching in the field of materials and structures for civil engineering. Her scientific activity focuses on the mechanical behavior, durability, and sustainability of innovative materials for the strengthening and structural retrofitting of reinforced concrete and masonry buildings, with a particular focus on cement-less materials and fiber-reinforced composite materials based on polymer and inorganic matrices.
She has gained significant international experience as a visiting researcher at the Magnel Laboratory for Concrete Research (Ghent University, Belgium), a visiting professor at the University of Houston (US), and a visiting teacher at the University of Bristol (UK).
Her research adopts an experimental and applied approach, with a strong link between laboratory work, modeling of phenomena, and implications for design practice.
She is actively involved in numerous national and European research projects on the sustainability, durability, and safety of buildings, including in collaboration with public bodies and industries. He participates in scientific committees and international working groups (fib, RILEM, ACI) and is a tutor of PhD programs in the field of materials and structures.
